Appendant Orders
The entry requirements and controlling bodies for the higher orders change dramatically depending on the jurisdiction you are in. For the most part I have covered the orders as they exist in Scotland, England, Ireland and the Unitied States.

Royal Ark Mariner |
The Degree of Royal Ark Mariner has a nautical flavour taking for its setting the circumstances leading up to the Great Flood and the steps taken by Noah to build the Ark by which mankind was preserved from perishing in the Universal Deluge. |

The Order of Knight Masons |
| The Grand Council of Knight Masons is a Sovereign Masonic Order with control of the degrees known as the Red Cross or Babylonian Degrees. These ancient Degrees of Knight Masonry are of high esoteric and symbolic value and the building of the second Temple forms the theme. In Scotland these degree’s are worked along with the Royal Ark Mariner degree in a order called the Lodge and Council. | ||

Allied Masonic Degrees |
| The Allied Masonic Degree organisation is dedicated to research and the preservation of many archaic degrees and orders that have no other place in the modern Freemason system. In North America these AMD contains, among others, Royal Ark Mariner, Order of the Seccret Monitor, Knight of Constantinople, Order of Corks, and Red Branch of Eri. In other Jurisdictions some of these Degree’s exist in different orders. | ||

Societas Rosicruciana |
| The Societas Rosicruciana is an independent Christian society. Admission is limited to Master Masons who are subscribing members of a Lodge under the Grand Lodge of England or a jurisdiction in amity with Grand Lodge and who accept and believe in the fundamental principles of the Trinitarian Christian faith.
The Societas Rosicruciana does not, however, constitute another interesting degree in Freemasonry, to be acquired in the course of ordinary Masonic progress. It is something beyond and outside Freemasonry. More and more Freemasons are looking to the Christian degrees for answers to the questions confronted during their daily advancement in Masonic knowledge. The membership of the order is made up from brethren who have all trod the same path within the structure of Masonry. The Society is the ideal forum for Masons who wish to extend their contemplation of the hidden mysteries of Nature and Science.

Ye Corporation O’Squaremen |
The Corporation of Squaremen was originally an Operative Lodge held in Ayr and formed one of the number which constituted the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Minutes were kept but the Minute-Book was lost. The Banner used by the Corporation is still preserved by an Ayrshire Freemason and there are other relics in existence. The organization did not admit any but Mark Masons who hold or have held office in a Craft Lodge or who are Royal Arch Companions. Candidates must have been Master Masons for at least five years and must be thirty years of age or over. At present the Order is in a flourishing condition but for some years it was dormant. It was revived by Brothers Philip and William Murray in 1903, who communicated the working and secrets to Brother Alfred A Murray. Not one of the Murrays is related to either of the others. |
